Joe's win game one of the doubleheader in extras, 5-4
Joes snapped their losing streak in game one of the doubleheader against the Muskegon Clippers. Great outing from Joe's starting pitcher, Dale Ellis, getting through six innings of a seven-inning game, only allowing two earned runs and four strikeouts.
Scoring would start with a two-out RBI single from Eric Fleetwood, scoring Preston Zumwalt. Joes would keep giving Dale Ellis run support with a two-run bomb from AJ Beggs to increase Joe's lead to 3-0.
Clippers won’t go down quietly with a two-run home run from Ben Meyes to spoil the scoreless outing from Dale Ellis. The Clippers would get an additional run in the bottom of the seventh on a dropped third strike and scored Drake Roa to tie the game up.
The game would go to extras, with it being a seven-inning game. The Joes would get the bases loaded with two walks and a hit by pitch. Brady Bowen would walk to score a run to give the Joes the lead, 4-3. Alex Koelling would also hit a sacrifice fly to gain an additional run to make the score 5-4 going into the bottom of the seventh inning.
Clipper would get one back with an RBI groundout from Cayden Nieto, but Jeffrey Levin slammed the door shut. Joes won game one in Muskegon with a chance to steal the series in game two tonight.
