Joes Out Slug the Flag City Sluggers, 16-11

Joes won their third game in a row at Foundation Field against the Flag City Sluggers in a game that had a combined 27 runs. 

Joes would go up quickly in the bottom of the first with a RBI double from Alex Koelling, RBI single from Preston Zumwalt, sacrifice fly from Noah Kubasky, and a double steal from AJ Beggs and Zumwalt to take a 4-0 lead. 

Flag City Sluggers would get back a run with a solo homer from Ty O’Brien in the top of the second. Joes would respond with a RBI double from Brady Bowen to keep the four run lead. Joes would go on to score three runs in the bottom of the third with three doubles from Beggs, Halter, and McAlpin. 

Sluggers would not go down quietly with a three run inning to get back into striking distance, making the score 8-4. Joes and Slugger would go on to trade three run half innings with the Joes capping it off with a solo shot from Preston Zumwalt to make it 14-7 and the Joes would not look back from there. 

Sluggers tried to make it interesting in the later innings but couldn’t mount the comeback as the Joes would win with a score from the first half of a football game, 16-11. Joes will travel to Fort Wayne tomorrow as they try to take game two at their place at 6:05 tomorrow.
