Joes Mercy Rule the Sluggers, 15-4

Joes Get Back to the .500 Mark Against Sluggers, 15-4

The Hamilton Joes traveled to Findlay, Ohio to play the Flag City Sluggers in game two of the series. This was a pivotal game for the Joes as it was an opportunity to get back to .500 on the year.

Joes would start the scoring with Noah Kubasky's ground-out that scored Owen McCoon to give the Joes an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Sluggers would come swinging with a three-run double from Gino Williams to take the lead 3-1 in the bottom of the second.

Joes would respond in the top of the fourth with a second home run from Preston Zumwalt, bringing the score even at three. The bats from the Joes would come alive during this inning after the home run with a double from RBI single Parker Falkenstein, a two RBI double from Alex Koelling, RBI single from Kirtley, and another home run in the same inning from Owen McCoon, and an HBP from Falkenstein. The score would be 10-3, and the Joes wouldn’t look back.

The Joes would add to their lead in the sixth with Kirtley scoring a run on a fielder’s choice. In the seventh, Joe would get into run rule territory by scoring another three runs from a pair of RBI singles from Gundler and Kubasky, and a RBI double from Koelling to make it 15-3.

Sluggers would score one run, but couldn't extend the game in the bottom of the seventh to end the game early for the Joes. Joe will come home to finish the series and look for the first sweep of the year at Foundation Field at 7:05 Sunday night.
