Sluggers Win Game Three and Avoid the Sweep to the Joes

Joes Unable to Sweep the Sluggers, Lose 3-2

Flag City Sluggers avoid the sweep on a beautiful night at Foundation Field. A night dominated by pitching on both sides as the Joes tried to come back late, but ran out of outs.

Starting pitchers Sam Eppley and Grady Mason were both excellent with Eppley throwing three innings, five strikeouts and giving up a run, and Mason getting through four and two thirds, with three strikeouts and no runs allowed. Sluggers lone run against Eppley came in the top of the third when Timothy Leark smacked a single into left field to take the lead 1-0

1-0 would be the score for a while until Mickey Anderson hit a ball deep into left field and left fielder Kamden McAlpin was unable to handle it. The ball would go to third and get past Brady Bowen and allow Anderson to score making it 3-0.

Joes would fight back with two runs coming around in the bottom of the eighth from two passed balls from Sluggers pitcher Juilus Robichaud, making the score 3-2. That's all the Joes could get tonight and it will drop their record a game below .500, 4-5.

Joes will have an off day on Monday and will welcome in the Michigan Monarchs on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Wednesday being a doubleheader.
