Joes Lose a Close Game in Athens, 3-2
This is a subtitle for your new post
The Hamilton Joes traveled to Athens, Ohio for game two of the series against the Southern Ohio Copperheads.
This game was a great pitching duel with both starting pitchers having complete games but it was Logan Martin of the Copperheads that would be slightly better facing Joshua Isaacs of the Joes. Offence was scarce in this game but both teams would get on the board in the first with Ryder Kirtley bringing in the games first run for the Joes and a sacrifice fly from Lance Morgan to make the game tied after one.
Parker Falkenstein would lead off the top of the second with a solo home-run over the left field fence to give the Joes the lead. That's all the Joes would get off Logan Martin, and he would not allow any runs from there. He finished the game with nine innings pitched, one walk, and ten strikeouts.
Joshua Isaacs of the Joes was just as good until Joshua Caudill came up in the seventh and hit an RBI single to even the score at 2-2. Caudill would come around to score on an error made by Isaacs to give the Copperheads the lead in the bottom of the seventh. Isaacs would finish his day with eleven strikeouts and two walks through eight innings.
Both teams will travel back to Hamilton, Ohio to play Thursday night to finish the series. The rubber match will start at 7:05pm at Foundation Field.
