Joes Dominate the Locos, 10-1

Joe's Big Inning Too Much For Locos, 10-1

Another beautiful night at Foundation Field as the Joes host the Locos. It's game two of the championship rematch from a year ago.

A pitching duel would start the first four innings between the Joes, Charlie Dieruf, and Locos, BC Harrison. Both pitchers combined for only six strikeouts, but the pitchers were very efficient, making quick work of both sides. Dieruf of the Hamilton Joes has yet to give up a run through his first seven innings of the season.

The scoring would start in the fifth with a sacrifice fly from Avery Wilson of the Locos to score their only run of the ballgame. Joes came into the bottom of the fifth down a run with B.C. Harrision looked dominant until Noah Kubasky started a hit parade, with Alec Halter, Parker Falkenstein all getting base hits to load the bases. Alex Koelling cleared the bases with a double that one-hopped the wall in deep right-center field.

The fire started when B.C. Harrison got taken out of the game and said something to the base umpire, Joseph Kimbrew, and he was tossed from the game. Drew Ferguson came into the game, and while he was warming up, the head coach of the locos, Chad Ehrnsberger, got tossed for arguing between innings.

Joe would follow this up with a suicide squeeze from Owen McKoon, and it was a good one with another runner scoring and McKoon reaching base as well. Gavin Brewer would score another with a sacrifice fly, and McKoon would end the scoring with a wild pitch. The first seven hitters of the fifth would reach for the Joes and would take the lead with a score of 7-1.

The pitching as a whole today for the Joes was great. The unit today consisted of Dieruf, Eli Wagner, and Hudson Boring, and they combined for ten strikeouts, five walks, and only one earned run. Joes would go on to score three more runs en route to a 10-1 victory over the Locos, ending their nine-game winning streak.

The Hamilton Joes will travel to Lima, Ohio, tomorrow to finish the set as they look to take the series and get the season back on track.
