Joe's Winning Streak Snapped Versus Copperheads, 9-5
The Hamilton Joes traveled to Athens, Ohio, to finish the final set against the Southern Ohio Copperheads. Joes would eventually lose their 5-game winning streak tonight.
The scoring in the game would start with a blast from Cole Davis in the bottom of the second inning to give the Copperheads an early 1-0 lead. The game remained the same until the fourth when Dawson Kennedy hit a sacrifice fly to extend the Copperheads' lead to 2-0.
Joes would retaliate in the fifth inning with AJ Beggs doubling down the left field line, scoring two. Kamden McAlpin would hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring Beggs. McAlpin would come around to score on a wild pitch later in the inning.
Cole Davis’s big night would continue with another home run, this time a two-run home run. To even the score at 4-4. In the bottom of the seventh, Copperheads would get up big when Joshua Caudill reached on an error, scoring Jaylen Kennedy. Dawson Kennedy would soon single to right field, scoring Jaylen Kennedy. Lastly, Mason Wagner would draw a bases-loaded walk to bring the score in the top of the eighth to 7-4 Copperheads.
Joes would try to rally back in the top half of the eighth with Beggs hitting his second double of the game to score Preston Zumwalt, but it was too late. Copperheads would go on to score another two runs in the bottom of the eighth, and that was it for the Joes. The Hamilton Joes would fall to the Copperheads, 9-5. Joes will travel to Flag City tomorrow to take on the Flag City Sluggers on Friday evening.
