Joes Drop Home Opener 9-2
Joes Hold Early Lead Before Mariners Break Through with Seven-Run Sixth Inning

It was a beautiful night in Hamilton, Ohio as the Hamilton Joes hosted the Grand Lake Mariners in the Joes Home opener. It was a pitching duel in the first three innings between the Joes, Dean Brown, and Mariners, Taylor Seay keeping it scoreless.
The Joes would strike first in the fourth inning with Parker Falkenstein drawing a bases loaded walk giving the Joes a 1-0 lead through 4. Dean Brown would try and get through 5 innings but was limited to 4 ⅓ with runners on first and second. Caden Clark came on in relief and gave a two run double to pitch-hitter Matthew Hutchinson to give the Mariners a 3-1 lead half way through five.
Clark went back into the game and got pulled after allowing two base runners. Joshua Issac came in to try and get out of the jam but was hit early. Holden Murcer of the Mariners hit a 2 run single. A batter later the Bases were loaded when Mariners, Parker Vaughn hit a bases clearing double to extend the lead to 8-1
The Joes would score another run but it was too late. Joes will start their season 0-1 and look to get in the win column Saturday, on the road against the Grand Lake Mariners.
